Order a fresh MICR drum the first time you convert a printer to MICR (your original drum carries regular toner); after that, this ~40,000-page drum outlasts several toner cartridges, so most reorders need only the toner.
Note: this is the black (K) imaging drum — the one used for MICR check printing.
